Do any of you struggle with personalizing the comments? I find that I have the expectations (standards) and I can write a great standard comment, but it needs to be tweaked to fit different students. Very much like a rubric! I have created a list (it's by no means exhaustive) of qualifiers that might help you make your comments a little more specific.
Click on the image above to download this FREEBIE. I hope it helps with report card writing!
Pinkadots Elementary is hosting their first ever LINKY PARTY! The theme is school supply lists. What better for next year than a great tote or organizer from 31Gifts? Click on the image above to find out what other people have on their school supply lists!

ReplyDeleteI love these bags but haven't gotten one for myself yet. This would make be so nice because everything would be in the same spot and be easily transported.
ReplyDeleteI really, really, really want that black and pink and white tote!
ReplyDeleteOh and about reports, I do have some trouble making them specific and personalized but what I do now is just use whatever specific topic they wrote about or for science I'm putting in exactly what their individual structure was because they all built different things. But in some subjects it's difficult to do (like Health and Physed).
ReplyDeleteI love having everything at my fingertips--that way I'll be less likely to procrastinate! haha

A beautiful bag has to make everything better!

I love me some Thirty One but I am probably also the weird one who loves writing report cards. Comments are my favorite. In the districts that I have been in we only have a select few that we can choose from and aren't able to complete our own.
ReplyDeleteInstead, I normally tuck a note in with the report card or now I just give them to the students on an irregular basis!

Winning this tote would totally help with organizing the masses of papers I have spilling out of my current one! What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteAddie
So glad you told me about your giveaway!! It looks amazing! As far as report card writing, I'm one of those teachers who make notes about each kid and sit down and type. I find it faster than inserting a comment and then modifying it for the next steps...call me crazy but it works for me! But, since I'm on MAT leave right now, I am enjoying the sun instead of reports...sorry guys!
